Xelha is a cross between (insert the name of your local tobogan water park here), a zoo, and an aquarium. It was there that Randal Kleiser shot The Blue Lagoon, starring hottie extraordinaire Brooke Shields. If you're willing to pay $60, they'll let you swim with dolphins there, but if you don't believe in whoring cetaceans you can swim with the fishes instead.
Our snorking tour took less than an hour, but it was a lot of fun. It took us a while to figure out where the fishes liked hanging out, but once we found them it was something else. Here's Maria in her checkered snorkling outfit.
We saw a dozen or so different kinds of fish, but most our pictures didn't turn out so good, Alexis has a lot to learn about underwater photography. Here's a school of stiped fish that he found under a rock.
Alexis tried to stay warm underwater by keeping a t-shirt on, but in the end he still managed to catch a gnarly cold that has caused him respiratory woes to this day.
The highlight of Alexis' dive was swimming amidst real yellow finned tuna. They're a lot prettier out of the can. Alexis also saw some crazy-looking prehistoric monstrousity in the water, but it moved too fast to catch on film. It was sort of sturgeony.
